COACH BRANDON HOWIE
HEAD MUAY THAI COACH /KHRU
Coach Brandon brings over 20 years of Muay Thai training, 10 years of coaching, and 5 years of competitive experience to the Lion Pryde family. His roots run deep. He was trained personally by Kru Ray Cole, founder of Khanomtom Muay Thai in Tampa, Florida — a lineage known for real technique, real grit, and true Thai-style fundamentals.
From there, Coach Brandon expanded his craft and leadership, serving over three years as the Head Muay Thai Instructor at Robson Moura BJJ in Tampa. His ability to guide athletes, refine technique, and build structured training programs made him a stand-out coach long before he ever stepped into Alabama.
Most recently, he sharpened his edge even further as an Assistant Coach at Low Kick Camp Muay Thai under “The Leg Assassin” Bryan Carroll. In that role, Coach Brandon helped prepare both amateur and professional fighters for competition, while also developing brand-new students from day one into strong, skilled, confident athletes.
What truly sets him apart is the depth of knowledge he’s gathered from some of the most respected names in the game.
Coach Brandon has trained with:
-
Kevin Ross – American Muay Thai icon
-
Ajarn Sochart of Siam #1
-
Jongsanan Fairtex – legendary fighter and coach
-
Cyrus “Black Dynamite” Washington – elite professional fighter
-
Attachai Fairtex – Muay Thai world champion
Through this wide range of mentorships and hands-on experience, Coach Brandon has built a coaching style rooted in authentic Thai technique, high-level fight IQ, and a deep understanding of how to elevate students at every stage — from beginners to seasoned competitors.
Coach Brandon is a technician, a strategist, and a true student of the art. His experience, discipline, and passion make him one of the strongest assets to any athlete walking into the Lion Pryde Muay Thai gym.

COACH SEL PALMER

O'RYAN KING
INTERMEDIATE MUAY THAI COACH / FIGHT TEAM COACH
Coach Sel has been grinding in striking arts for over five years, starting his journey with the Mobile MMA Club right here in Mobile, Alabama. When he stepped into Lion Pryde Muay Thai, his technical growth exploded. He locked in, dedicated himself to real training, real improvement, and real competitive preparation. And with that same fire, he stepped into his first match after the age of 40, proving his discipline, determination, and warrior spirit on a whole different level.
But Sel isn’t just a student of the game — he’s a natural teacher. Coming from a basketball coaching background, he brought a deep understanding of communication, structure, and athlete development straight into Muay Thai. His ability to break things down is second to none. Coach Sel has a detailed, step-by-step teaching style that makes complex techniques feel simple and helps students lock in their fundamentals, build confidence, and push past their limits.
Whether he’s on the mats training alongside the team or guiding beginners through their first round-kick combo, Coach Sel brings leadership, patience, and passion. He’s a prime example that it’s never too late to rise, compete, and help shape the next generation of fighters.

COACH VEE
KIDS MUAY THAI COACH
Coach Vee has dedicated over five years to mastering Muay Thai, sharpening her technique, discipline, and understanding of the art. What started as her personal journey quickly turned into a mission to help others rise. She’s played a huge part in bringing new adults into the gym, guiding them from their very first stance to their first breakthroughs. In our youth program, she’s been a steady force — teaching kids confidence, respect, and real Muay Thai fundamentals while helping shape their character on and off the mats.
She made her mark in Lion Pryde history as the very first woman to ever compete under our banner, stepping into the IKF PKB and representing the pride and power of the gym. That experience didn’t just challenge her — it elevated her. Coach Vee now trains side-by-side with our fight team, embracing the same grind, the same pressure, and the same champion mindset that pushes our competitors to the next level.
Today, she uses all of that growth and grit to help build the next generation of young warriors. She leads with patience, strength, and purpose — showing every student, young or old, what Lion Pryde Muay Thai is all about: heart, determination, and leveling up day after day.

COACH ANDREW TURNER "COACH DREW"
ALL LEVELS MUAY THAI COACH / FIGHT TEAM COACH

Coach Drew is a true multi-discipline striker, a craftsman of combat with mastery across Karate, Muay Thai, Dutch Kickboxing, Taekwondo, and Western Boxing. His depth of experience allows him to bring a unique blend of diversity, creativity, and innovation into the Lion Pryde system while still respecting the roots of traditional Muay Thai.
With over 20 years of training and competition in kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA, and point-based fighting, Coach Drew carries a level of versatility few coaches can match. His background gives him the ability to break down movement from multiple perspectives — striking angles, footwork patterns, defensive reactions, and power mechanics — all fused into a style that elevates every student who trains under him.
His coaching is old school in all the right ways: tough, disciplined, technical, and rooted in fundamentals that actually work under real pressure. That foundation is now woven directly into the Lion Pryde style, shaping the way our fighters move, strike, and think inside the ring.
Coach Drew is the hammer in the forge — applying pressure, sharpening skills, and molding both our Fight Team and Level 1 students into cleaner, sharper, more dangerous blades. When he’s coaching, nobody stays dull. Everyone levels up.
